Wedding song request form

Let guests request the songs that get them dancing, sorted by the moment they should play.

What's inside

Guests name a song and the moment it fits; a dance-floor pick asks whether it's a slow dance or full energy. A second pick, a link and a do-not-play song are optional.

Turning requests into a playlist

Send the link with your RSVP, or a month before the wedding once the guest list is settled. Ask for requests to close a week before the day, which gives your DJ or band time to find and learn them.

The moment question does the sorting for you: dinner songs, dance-floor songs and a last-song shortlist. Export the replies as a CSV file and hand your DJ one list per moment.

The do-not-play question is more useful than it looks. Guests know which song makes the bride's father leave the room; let them tell you before the night, not during it.

Requests are suggestions. Tell your DJ which ones are must-plays and leave the rest to their judgment of the room.

Song request questions

Do guests need to sign in to request a song?

No. They open the link, type a song and send it. The name field is optional, so a shy guest can request their favorite without being known for it. Named requests do help on the night, since the DJ can dedicate a song or call a guest to the floor. Say in the intro that the name is optional, so nobody stops at that field.

Can guests paste a streaming link?

Yes. The link question takes any web address, so a guest can paste a song from the app they use and your DJ finds the exact version. That matters for songs with many covers or a radio edit, where the wrong version can empty a dance floor. A live band plays its own arrangements, so delete the question if you hired one.

Can I limit requests to the dance floor?

Yes. Delete the other two moments in your copy, or delete the moment question altogether. The slow or full energy question only depends on the dance-floor answer. If you remove the moment question entirely, set the energy question to show for everyone, since it has no answer left to follow. Many DJs plan dinner music themselves, so dropping it costs little.
