Running a prediction pool
Rename the four matches to the real fixtures once the round is drawn, and close the form at the first kickoff.
Pick a scoring rule before anyone plays and put it in the intro. A common one: 3 points for the exact score, 1 for the right result.
Post the leaderboard in the chat after each match. It keeps the whole office watching, even the people who never watch football.
Prediction pool questions
Does the form calculate the points?
No. Export the predictions as a CSV file and score them in a spreadsheet after each match. A simple sheet with one column per match takes ten minutes to set up. Give the penalty question its own column too, so a player who called the right shootout gets the bonus point without redoing every sum.
Can I use it for other sports?
Yes. Rename the matches and the penalties question, for example to overtime in hockey or a tiebreak in tennis. For a bigger round, add more match questions in the editor; a round of 16 has eight matches, so you add four. Duplicate the form for each round, so every round has its own clean list of predictions.
Can I run a money pool?
Fillio takes no payments, and betting rules differ by place. Most office pools play for a trophy or bragging rights, which keeps everyone in. A cheap trophy from a party shop, or the winner picking the next team lunch spot, works well. Name the prize in the intro so everyone plays for the same thing.
