Getting nominations worth reading
Open nominations a month before the deadline and remind people once, a week before it closes. Most nominations arrive in the last three days.
"One moment that sums them up" is the answer you will read on stage. Ask for it plainly, and the awards night writes itself.
Respect the credit answer. When a winner asks who nominated them, share the names of those who said yes and nothing more.
Nomination questions
Can I use it for employee of the month?
Yes. Rename the awards to your categories and the intro to your deadline. Teams often keep one form open all year and pick a winner each month. Put the monthly cutoff in the intro, such as the 25th. The export starts with the date and time of each nomination, so you can see which month it belongs to.
Can people nominate more than one person?
Yes, by sending the form again. Each nomination is its own reply, so the export lists every nominee with its story. Ask for one nominee per form rather than three names in one box, so counting stays simple. If you want a limit, such as one nomination per award, say so in the intro and check the names in the export.
How do I pick the winner?
Sort the export by nominee. Count the nominations, then read the stories; a panel of three usually agrees within an hour. Spell names one way before you count, since Sam P. and Sam Patel are the same person. One detailed story can matter more than five short ones, so read every reply in full before you decide.
