Filling a charity scramble
Open registration eight weeks out. Sponsors and regulars sign up first; singles come in the last two weeks, which is when you build mixed foursomes.
Handicaps help you balance teams. Put a strong single with a foursome of three high handicaps, and the scores at the end stay close.
Lunch per golfer goes straight to the clubhouse kitchen. Send the counts per dish the Monday before.
A shotgun start fits 18 holes times two groups, so 36 teams at most. When your entries reach that number, close the form from its settings.
Golf scramble questions
How do I take entry fees and sponsorships?
Put the price per golfer and a payment link in the intro, or invoice captains after they register. Fillio takes no payment and no fee. Invoicing captains suits foursomes, since one person pays for the whole team. Check payments against the tee sheet the week before, when you email each team its starting hole, and remind anyone unpaid in the same email.
Can a captain register a twosome?
Yes. They choose a foursome and enter one golfer joining them. You fill the other two spots with singles of a similar handicap, and tell the captain who they will play with before the day. A threesome works the same way, with two golfers joining the captain and one single added from your list.
Can I add hole sponsors to the same form?
Keep sponsors on a separate form. Sponsors answer different questions, like logo files and sign wording, and mixing them makes the tee sheet harder to read. On the sponsor form, a file upload question collects the logo, and a hole sponsor option with a limit of 18 shows as full once every hole is taken. Link the sponsor form in this form's intro.
