Class parent contact list
Families add their contacts once, and the room parent has one up-to-date list.
What's inside
A mobile number is asked only from families who prefer text or WhatsApp, and every family chooses whether others may see their details.

Building a class list families trust
Send the link in the first week of school, through the teacher's newsletter. Families fill it in while the year still feels new.
The sharing question is required. Send the shared list only with families who said yes, and keep the others for the teacher and room parent.
Sort by the help column to plan the year. Parents who ticked field trips are your first call when a permission slip asks for chaperones.
Class contact list questions
How do I share the list with families?
Export the replies to a spreadsheet, filter to families who chose Yes, share them, and send that file or paste it into the class group. Families who chose private stay off it. New families often join in the first month, so send an updated list then, with the date in the file name so parents know which one is current.
Why not just ask everyone for a phone number?
Many families only use email for school. Asking for a mobile only from those who prefer text or WhatsApp collects less personal data and gets more replies. Collecting only what you will use is also what most school privacy policies ask of room parents. Families who pick email still get every class message.
Can two parents fill it in separately?
They can, but one reply per child keeps the list clean. The parent names question takes both names in one answer. If both parents want class news by email, add a second email question. For a child with two homes, a second reply is fine; merge the two rows in the export.
